Flawless skin is something that is inextricably linked to beauty. When there are no breakouts or a blemish in sight, we do feel beautiful, and our skin reflects that. However, the only problem is the weeks of breakouts we have to endure before having clear perfect skin, making sure we don’t forget the daily and nightly facial regimes before our skin becomes a nightmare. If only at times there was something simpler, especially when you are in the last few weeks running up to your dream day. It is never too early to start your wedding day skin preparations.

The longer you look after your body and skin the more it will reflect and show, on both the inside and out, as it will make you feel amazing. Just the fundamental aspect of looking after your skin, can make you feel much happier and at ease, calming those last-minute cold feet and nerves. There are many brands out there selling products that make your skin flawless and perfect, blemish free and silky soft.

However, as everyone has a different skin type, what is good for one person might not remotely work for another. Hence manufacturers try to cater to specific skin types, for example, sensitive skin. It all depends on your skin type to what products you can use successfully.

Most people choose their skin products through reviews and recommendations, with a few selecting their products just through advertisements. You need a product you can trust and feel confident with, rather than something that you are unsure about, as you do not want to be going to a major life event without having that radiant glow and silky soft skin.

A good thing to do would be to go to a cosmetic or department store and seek advice from a consultant, they will point you to the right product for your skin type. However, make sure this is done several weeks before the wedding, as it is advised to not try new products less than three weeks before the big day, in case of an allergic reaction. There are several debates as to which factors ensure that your skin is the best it can be, at the same time as remaining healthy overall. Some say it is to do with diet; others say its products and lotions and others have said it’s to do with your environment.

All the debates make sense to some extent. If you are working with heavy machinery your skin will dry out or eating more junk food will cause your skin to break out, or even something as simple as using a product too often and not in line with the instructions could dry out your skin.

Make sure you are stress free, there is nothing worse for your skin than worrying. Everyone has wedding nerves, which is natural, but make sure it’s not excessive as you do not want dark shadows and bags underneath your eyes when it comes to having wedding pictures taken.

An excellent way to do this, which also works wonders for your skin, is to have a massage. This releases all the harmful toxins from your muscles and rejuvenates your system and skin. In addition to the relaxing side effects from the massage, it will leave your skin hydrated and fresh due to the oils the masseuse uses. Also, it is always advised that after having a massage to drink as many fluids as possible, as this will help flush away the toxins.

This is another bonus as nutritionists also suggest maintaining your daily amount of water intake, as it will make your skin look and feel healthier as well as sticking to a balanced diet. In the final days before your wedding be sure to stay away from salt, alcohol and carbonated drinks as this will make your skin puffy and bloated, ruining all your hard work in the run-up to your most extraordinary day.

Everyone wants to shed a few pounds before the big day, but this should be done months before the wedding rather than weeks. This is because of the dreaded stretch marks; nobody wants them to be on show on a regular day, let alone at your wedding! If you need to carry on losing the extra pounds, be sure to have a nourishing moisturizer to calm the stretch marks down and diminish the redness.

If you have any holidays before your wedding, or just generally live in a warm state, be sure to apply sunscreen daily. Not only will sunburn leave you with lobster red marks, but it will also dry out your skin and cause peeling. Which is not a good look, avoid it at all costs by ensuring you wear a good UV protector. Also, any diets under taken in the previous months can take its toll on your skin. Diets usually drain your skin of nutrients, often leaving you looking pasty. Make sure to top up your vitamins through fruit and vegetables or even supplements, to get that essential glow back.

When it gets down to a couple of weeks, ensure that everything in your wedding planner is ticked off. Even the last-minute appointments: Hair touch up, Teeth whitened, Pack your beauty kit for the wedding. If you want to have a facial, within the last two weeks before the big day is the best time to have one done. There is often a misconception regarding facials, but realistically it needs to be a couple of weeks as it can irritate some of the follicles and pores on the face, so it needs time to settle down.

Hopefully, this gave you a few useful tips on how to make sure your skin is in tip-top condition before your wonderful day. Stay calm, stress free and make it a beautiful memory to cherish.
